What Are Some Differences Between The National Catholic Church And The Roman Catholic Church?

  • We are a non-Papal Church
    • The head of the National Catholic Church, the Prime Bishop, is elected by the church members and clergy. We have a democratic structure that allows the members a voice and a vote in material church matters.
  • Our Clergy are allowed to marry
    • Tradition states that all but one of the twelve apostles were married. Popes, bishops and priests of the early church were all married men. The Church sees no moral reason to forbid a man to receive the Holy Sacrament of Matrimony just because he happens to be a priest. Many believe that married clergy are more likely to understand the problems of marriage and child rearing since they have experienced this part of life.
